The Exciting New Feature of Party Play in Pokemon Go

Niantic, the popular developer known for their games like “Pokemon Go” and “Monster Hunter Now,” has always been dedicated to creating a sense of togetherness among players. They have successfully brought players together through events like Raid Hour and hunting rare creatures. Now, Niantic is taking this concept to the next level with the introduction of Party Play in “Pokemon Go.” This exciting new feature allows players to team up in groups of up to four and engage in various activities together, such as catching Pokemon and defeating raids. In this article, we will dive into the details of Party Play and explore the benefits it offers to players.

What is Party Play?

Party Play is a new feature in “Pokemon Go” that enables players to form groups and participate in challenges together. To create a party, players can access the Party Tab in their Trainer Profile, which generates a unique numerical code or QR code. Nearby friends can then scan or enter this code to join the party and become part of the game. Once the party is formed, players will see their avatars walking around together on the screen. The leader of the party has the ability to add new friends to the group, enhancing the social aspect of the game.

One of the main benefits of Party Play is the opportunity for friendly competition among players. By setting goals and achieving them as a group, players can earn rewards such as Ultra Balls or Mega Beedrill energy. The leader can choose challenges that align with their objectives, creating a sense of teamwork and camaraderie. Additionally, Party Play introduces a new ability called Party Power in raids. This ability doubles the damage of the next Charged Attack and charges faster with each Fast Attack, making it easier for players to defeat powerful raid bosses.

Party Play can be particularly useful in taking on challenging raids. For example, the upcoming Halloween event introduces the formidable Greavard in 3-star raids, and the highly anticipated Shadow Lugia Raids will also require a strong team. By forming a party and utilizing the Party Power ability, players can increase their chances of success even with a smaller group of trainers. Furthermore, being part of a party automatically grants players a raid invite, simplifying the process of organizing raids.

Key Points to Remember

While Party Play offers exciting new opportunities for collaboration, there are a few key points to keep in mind. Participants need to be within the same distance as the leader from a Pokestop in order to access raids and other features. It is not possible to send a party code to a friend in a different location and expect them to join you instantly. Additionally, regular Party Play sessions last one hour, but Niantic is considering extending this time limit for special events. It’s important to note that Party Play statistics are not saved for future reference and disappear once the session ends. However, players can capture memorable moments by taking photos of achievements, such as capturing the most Pokemon or defeating the most raids, and sharing them on social media.

Accessing Party Play

Party Play is available to trainers who have reached level 15 and above. To celebrate the release of this new feature, Niantic is offering free Eevee shirts for player avatars, allowing players to showcase their participation in Party Play.

Party Play in “Pokemon Go” is an exciting addition that brings players closer together and encourages collaboration and competition. By forming parties and engaging in various activities, players can enjoy a more immersive and social gaming experience. Whether it’s catching Pokemon, defeating raids, or achieving goals, Party Play offers a new dimension of fun and rewards. So gather your friends, create a party, and embark on thrilling adventures in the world of “Pokemon Go.”
